Chapter 160: Reporting the Golems

After leaving the workshop basement, I decided to report to my father that I had become able to create Golems from purified Mana Cores. I walked to the Fairchild Margrave’s mansion; if I keep teleporting even for short distances, I’ll end up with a lack of exercise.

Arriving at my father’s office, I knocked on the door. “It’s William. Do you have a moment?” “Ah, Will. Come in.”

“There are Golems like that as well?” “Yes. Oliver came up with the name Legatus Golem. ‘Legatus’ is a word from an ancient language in my previous world, meaning a deputy or a leader.”

“I see. I think it’s a good name. By the way, do only Theo, Oliver, and the Elves know about the Golems?” “Yes. I made sure the workshop staff didn’t see them. Will this be treated as a secret?”

“Yes. It will likely become a national secret. The fact that you can produce legendary Golems is a massive shock. It could even provoke the Empire, which has finally settled down.” So that’s how it’s going to be.

Leaving my father’s office, I returned to my room and immediately teleported to the Royal Palace courtyard.

After Cecilia left the courtyard, she returned a short time later pushing a cart with a teapot and sweets. “Please wait a moment. In the meantime, would you like some tea?”

She is truly excellent—instantly making the necessary contact and providing tea and sweets like this. As expected of Her Highness’s maid. “Thank you.” The tea is delicious. And these sweets…

As I stared at the sweets, Cecilia smiled. “Did you notice? These are the ones served when you first met Her Highness. You seemed to like them quite a bit, so…” “Yes, they were so delicious I remember them well.”

His Majesty let out a long, deep breath. “I thought I was prepared for anything you might do, William-kun, but to create legendary Golems… I thought I’d used up a lifetime’s worth of surprises already, but it seems I was wrong.”
