Chapter 162: Flora and the Golems

I decided to let Flora and the others get a better sense of how wonderful the Golems are. “Could you come over here for a moment?” I called out to a Wood Golem working in a nearby wheat field.

“It really is. It’s just a shame they’ll only listen to Brother’s instructions.” As Sophie said, the Golems recognize me as their Master and won’t follow anyone else’s orders.

If they could listen to others, development would progress much faster. On the other hand, if they followed anyone’s orders, there’s a risk they could be misused, so it’s a delicate balance.

“It’s a huge help that the Legatus Golem can command them in my place. The construction progresses even when I’m not around.” “That’s right. “Everyone is so strong.” The twin guardian knights seemed impressed by everyone’s prowess. When three more Magic Wolves appeared, Flora asked, “May I try firing the magic gun as well?”

I replied, “Of course,” and Flora loaded a magic stone imbued with fire attribute magic—the one I had given her previously—and fired. The magic unleashed from the gun struck a wolf perfectly, and it vanished, leaving behind a trail of black smoke.

“I managed to defeat a monster too!” Even without sword or magic skills, one can defeat monsters. I was happy that Flora could experience that for herself.
