- Chapter 234: Let's Make a Golem Horse and a Cold Dessert
The first term ended, and the Royal Academy entered its summer vacation. Many students return to their family homes.
Come to think of it, it reminds me of when my older brother Eddie returned home for the summer holidays. Back then, I never thought I would be entering the academy myself.
After discussing it among ourselves, our club, the Southern Development Research Society, decided to hold a summer training camp in the undeveloped lands.
When I consulted the club president, my sister-in-law Francois, she said, “That sounds perfectly student-like, doesn’t it,” and immediately secured permission from the school for us.
However, many of the members aren’t in a position to easily stay out overnight. After all, even though there are only six members, we have the daughter of the Northern Duke, the daughter of the Western Margrave, and a Princess of the Royal Family among us.
It was decided that everyone would return home first to get their respective parents’ permission to attend a training camp in the undeveloped lands before we gathered again.
In the meantime, I decided to prepare for the camp. I teleported to Northernford, showed my face to my parents, and then immediately headed to the workshop to start manufacturing.
The first thing I decided to make was a Golem Horse. Up until now, we had horses pulling the carriage.
But considering the abnormal heat this year, pulling a carriage in the southern undeveloped lands would place a heavy burden on the horses.
In that regard, if I create a horse-type Golem to pull the carriage, it would be highly resistant to the heat and wouldn’t get tired, unlike a living horse.
I decided to use good materials so it would be as sturdy as possible. Recently, Prince Ernst of the northern Vandor Empire sent us some more Adamantite.
It’s a precious material, but I decided to use it without holding back here. The exploration of the undeveloped lands will continue for a long time, after all.
For the purified magic core that will act as the Golem’s core, I’ll use a large one from a Demon Boar leader. It’s the same feeling as when I created the Adamantite Golem before.
Lining up the materials in front of me, I formed the image in my head. I visualized a dependable Golem Horse: one with the power to forcefully pull a carriage through the undeveloped lands, and a sturdy body that wouldn’t flinch at monster attacks.
Then, magic power welled up from deep within my body and gathered at the tips of my right hand. At the same time, the materials were enveloped in a warm light.
When I activated my Production Skill, more magic power drained from my body than when I create a normal Golem.
When the light faded, a dull, black-shining Golem Horse was born. It looks larger and much sturdier than a normal horse.
As I looked around, the Golem Horse spoke to me. “NICE TO MEET YOU, MASTER.”
Ah, just like the Adamantite Golem, this one is smart and can talk. “Nice to meet you. I look forward to working with you.”
Because this Golem has a large frame and immense strength, and our spatially expanded carriage is light, it was able to pull the carriage all by itself.
We decided to call the horse-type Golem an Equus Golem. According to Oliver, who connected to the Akashic Records to look it up for me, “equus” apparently means horse in Latin.
By the way, when the birth of the horse-type Golem became known, the knights and Elves exploring the undeveloped lands also expressed a strong desire to ride them.
For a knight, their beloved steed is an irreplaceable partner, but in the harsh environment of the undeveloped lands where monsters are abundant, Golem Horses are much more suitable.
Therefore, using iron and regular purified magic cores as materials, I created many Equus Golems.
The Fairchild family knights will ride their traditional beloved steeds for events within the territory—such as parades in the capital of Northernford—and ride the Golem Horses when in the Sea of Trees or the undeveloped lands.
Now then, after the horse-type Golem comes a machine to make desserts. The inside of the carriage is well air-conditioned, but it’s hot when you step outside in the undeveloped lands. That’s why I want to prepare cold desserts.
The shaved ice machine I made recently has been very well-received, so I’ll load that onto the carriage. But that’s not all; I also want us to be able to eat a dessert that was a classic staple of summer tourist spots in my original world.
I could transport it using Storage Magic and put it in a freezer, but the best part is seeing it made right in front of you.
When I talked to Oliver, he connected to the Akashic Records and found documents detailing the internal mechanisms. It seems it requires cooling and churning inside the machine.
I am truly saved by Oliver, who continuously finds knowledge about things I don’t know. After understanding the mechanism, I activated my Production Skill, and a familiar machine appeared.
Then, when I poured in the liquid ingredients, it was able to make it perfectly. I wonder if everyone will be happy with it.
