Chapter 230: Let's Install Air Conditioners in the Royal Academy
“Phew, it’s hot today.”
The strong sunlight is dazzling.
Shielding my eyes with my arm, I look for some shade.
“It’s just as Will says. Is the Royal Capital usually this hot?”
“Letty-san, that is not the case. This year is a bit abnormal.”
Between droughts and extreme heat, it seems the climate really is abnormal.
After school, we hurried to the clubroom of the Southern Development Research Society as if fleeing.
Upon entering the clubroom, I turn on the air conditioner switch.
Immediately, cold air started blowing out.
“Phew, I feel like I’ve been brought back to life.”
“It’s true.”
Thinking something like this might happen, I had modified the clubroom to be fully equipped with heating and cooling.
I refrained from expanding the space, though.
Flora and Letty pulled at the collars of their shirts, stretching and loosening them.
“Hey, I don’t know where to look.”
“It’s only us fiancés here, so it’s fine.”
“Fufu, perhaps we are letting our guard down a bit too much. But just as Letty-san says, there is only our future family here.”
I feel like Flora is gradually being corrupted by Letty.
Though, if I said something like that, I’d probably get scolded by both of them, so I’ll keep quiet.
After a while, there was a knock on the door.
“Who is it?”
“It’s me, let me in.”
When I opened the door, standing there was Brother Eddie‘s fiancée and the Student Council Vice President, Francois-san.
“Ah, as I thought, there is an air conditioner in here.”
My sister-in-law sat down on a chair and closed her eyes to bathe in the cold air.
“I’m sorry for modifying the clubroom without permission.”
“Fufu, it’s fine. Modifications that make things inconvenient would be a problem, but you made it comfortable.”
I was relieved.
Even so, I hadn’t told anyone that I installed air conditioning in the clubroom.
Since it’s my smart sister-in-law, I guess she deduced it.
“Phew, thanks to this I feel human again. Still, with it being this hot, there will likely be people falling ill.”
“The number of people falling ill from this heat is actually increasing.”
“Is that so, Flora?”
“Yes, I hear the number of people coming to the hospital with heatstroke is rising. Father was saying it was a good thing we had the air conditioners you created, William-san, installed in the hospitals.”
Because this summer became so hot, the workshop accepted a request from His Majesty and installed air conditioners in hospitals all over.
Just like with the heating, prioritizing the hospitals first is very typical of His Majesty, who is called a wise ruler.
“That’s right. The hospital is a place where people with weakened bodies gather, so if there were no air conditioners, I think the number of people whose conditions worsened due to this heat would have increased.”
“It’s just as little Letty says. William-kun’s manufacturing is helping many people.”
My sister-in-law clapped her hands together.
“That’s it, William-kun. Could we install air conditioners in this academy too? At this rate, there will likely be students falling ill.”
“Hmm, it wouldn’t be difficult if we have the materials.”
“Then I’ll go call the President. Strike while the iron is hot, as they say.”
Saying so, my sister-in-law dashed out of the clubroom.
After a while, there was another knock on the clubroom door, and the Student Council President, young Lord Luke, entered the room together with the Vice President, my sister-in-law.
“How about it, President? This is the air conditioner William-kun made.”
“Oh, such cool wind blows out of it? It’s wonderful. As expected of Lord William.”
“President, if we install these air conditioners in the classrooms, we won’t have to worry about students falling ill, and I believe they will be able to concentrate on their classes.”
“Yes, it’s just as the Vice President says.”
The President’s approval was obtained in the blink of an eye.
My sister-in-law gave a wink as she led the President out of the clubroom.
Then, a few days later, a formal request came to the workshop from the Royal Academy.
No, but still, she works way too fast.
According to what I heard later, documents of such high quality that they essentially said, “What kind of fool wouldn’t approve the installation of air conditioners after reading this?” were submitted to the Royal Academy‘s board of directors.
As expected of my sister-in-law.
Thus, the workshop craftsmen ended up doing the installation work for the air conditioners at the Royal Academy.
Since they went through the trouble of advancing the talks at breakneck speed, I decided to go pick up the craftsmen with Teleportation Magic so they could start the construction quickly.
When I arrived at the workshop in Northernford, Theo and the craftsmen were gathered.
“You’re coming, Theo?”
“It was a request from Francois-san. Besides, it’s construction for Master’s school.”
“Thank you. It’s reassuring.”
I had everyone grab the hem of my clothes and teleported to the branch of the Will & Fellows workshop in the Royal Capital.
From there, we traveled by carriage, and the craftsmen wearing work clothes dyed with “W&F” arrived at the Royal Academy.
“Oh, is that the staff of the rumored W&F workshop?”
“Their bags and hats are stylish, aren’t they.”
“I wonder what they came here to do today?”
Students gathered around in droves.
“Since it’s hot this year, we’re installing air conditioners in the academy.”
When Theo answered, cheers erupted from the students.
