Chapter 405: Taking It Easy

Returning to the town, we ended up resting at Rosso’s mansion. Even though we had a reasonably comfortable deserted island life in the log house, there is a huge difference compared to a noble’s mansion. I was made to fully realize that at Rosso’s mansion.

As I was rolling around in the guest bedroom, Till, who had been carrying my luggage into the room, muttered that with a smile. At that, I waved one hand side to side, saying “No, no.”

“You had a hard time on the deserted island too, Till, so you should relax for a bit. Panamera and Arte went to take a bath together, you know?”

I tried suggesting that, but Till opened her mouth looking happy while putting my change of clothes into the closet.

“Just seeing Lord Van looking happy is enough for me. Besides, considering the environment, our life on the deserted island was unbelievably comfortable, you know?”

I involuntarily gave such a reply to Till’s words. Unbelievable. If it were me, I’d want to roll around for about three days. It’s a vibe like, Alright, time to become a shut-in~. Actually, since lying down on the bed, I don’t feel like I can move.

At my reaction, Till smiled as if troubled and placed a hand on her chest.

“Lord Van is the only one who treats us servants like that, you know? Truly, we are blessed to the point it’s almost too much.”

Till said that with her usual gentle smile, and humming a tune, she left the room for her next job. Seeing off Till, who bowed to me and exited through the door, I rolled around on the bed.

While groaning and thoroughly enjoying the fluffy bed, Arte came to visit the room after her bath.

“Ah, Lord Van……?”

“Oh, Arte. Take your time and relax.”

When I answered while rolling around, Arte tilted her head. She looked at me with a puzzled expression.

“……What are you doing?”

At that question, I stopped moving while lying on my back, raised my head, and looked at Arte’s face.

“I was just thinking about a few things……”

“I-I see.”

Arte nodded with a serious face at my answer and quietly sat on a chair in the room. Hm? I thought she came because she had something to talk about, but is that not it?

“Do you need something?”

When I asked, Arte nodded and answered.

“Ah, yes. Lady Panamera said she had something to discuss with you, Lord Van……”

“Eh? Discuss?”

Surprised, I sat up straight on the bed. Somehow, when someone says “I have something to discuss with you,” my posture naturally straightens.

“……I won’t be scolded, will I?”

“I think you will be fine, but……”

When I asked out of worry, Arte smiled troubledly but said it should be fine. If Arte says it’s fine, it’s probably fine.

“Well then, shall we go together?”, I said, and headed to Panamera’s bedroom with Arte. By the way, when I left the bedroom, Khamsin, who had been sitting on a chair outside my room guarding it, stood up silently and followed.

“……You can rest too, you know, Khamsin?”

“Yes. I was resting sitting on the chair in front of Lord Van’s room.”

“Can that really be called resting, I wonder……”

In the end, bringing Khamsin along as an attendant, I decided to visit Panamera’s room with Arte.

“Ms. Panamera~?”

When I knocked on the bedroom door and called her name, Panamera poked her head out from inside. With her hair wet, Panamera showed herself wearing only loungewear that looked like a wrapped cloth, and Khamsin froze, looking tense. A fresh-out-of-the-bath Panamera might be better off banned for minors.

“Glad you came. You may enter.”

“Righto.”

I involuntarily gave a henchman-like reply to Panamera’s manly way of speaking, and stepped into Panamera’s bedroom. Looking back, there was the figure of Khamsin waiting outside with his back straight. It seems only Arte and I are going inside.

The guest room assigned to Panamera had the same feel as my room. Arte’s was probably similar. Since it had a large bed, a round table, and two single-person sofas, it ended up looking like Panamera sitting on the bed while Arte and I sat on the sofas facing her.

“Now then, to consult with you.”

Panamera said that, looking not at all like she was about to ask for a consultation. By the way, Panamera was on the bed, leaning back on one hand, crossing her legs, and wearing a smile. Hmm, I can’t help but be distracted by the cleavage.

“Consult?”

Shaking off my worldly thoughts and asking back, Panamera tucked her chin and turned her palm upwards.

“Yes. About the Hydra’s head.”
